Fifties Party Invitation

Several months ago my daughter decided she wanted a 50's theme party for her 9th birthday so we began coming up with ideas...then provo craft released their Nifty Fifties cartridge and thank goodness for that becuase it has made this so much easier. This is the first of many projects I will post using this cartridge. This is the invitation I came up with. My sister and I made about 40 of these. The card is 4.25 x 5.5 and the pink layer is 4.0 x 5.25 and I ran it through the cuttlebug for some texture. We used pop dots for the dress to give it some dimension and two types of ribbon, one on the dress which was velvet and one on the pink cardstock for more texture:)

Cricut Circle "Calling Card"

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to the PA Meet up for the Cricut Circle. We had a great time and got to meet many MB friends in person. It was great to meet all of you. I made my calling card with the butterfly from Cake Basics cartridge. The card measures 3x3 amd is used for the drawings at the Cricut Circle events. The other side has all my contact information and Circle Member number.

"Believe" Ballerina Card

Here is a card I made for a challange at olivejuicestudio.com. I used the Storybook cartridge for the scalloped rectangle and French Manor for the scalloped oval. I am new to stamping so I was happy with how the dress turned out. The dress reminded me of ballerinas so I went with that theme...hence the ribbon:) Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Bee-rthday Card

This is a card I made for a sketch challenge. Wish me luck:) I used Create a Critter for the bee and paper pups for the clouds. Not sure if you can tell from the picture but I did do some inking around the clouds for dimensions and used satin ribbon over the border punch. Thanks for dropping by.

Purse Mini Album (Thanks Kathy!)

I used a boder punch for the decorations on the pockets.

1 inch binding rings were used to hold the handle and the pockets in the album. I used my Crop-a-dile for punching the holes on the purse since it is pretty thick.

Magnetic closure attaches similar to a brad...very simple but looks "professional"

Flower was cut out with my cricut at 2", 1.75", 1.5", 1", .75" and attached with a brad made from the same paper with the i-top.

I love the way this turned out. I followed the instructions from Kathy Orta at paperhenomenon.blogspot.com. She has an awsome class and we had a lot of fun putting this purse together so if you haven't checked her out it's a must. The purse is about 7 inches wide by 5.25 inches tall not including the handle. I used cereal boxes which I cut and covered. This is a project that is fun to do because you begin to see results quickly. The closure is a magnetic closure and both the closure and the handle can be found in the purse making section at your craft store. I got mine at JoAnns. I can see this used for an event such as a bridal or baby shower or as a brag book to keep at the office:) If you are interested in making one check out Kathy's video on u-stream and .....

Karla

Design Studio Box for A2 Size Cards

As I was going through my pictures of past projects I found these. I posted them several months back on the Cricut MB but I did not have a blog at that time so I am posting them now. This was one of my first successful projects on Design Studio. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the box and lid and I used Accent Essentials for the scallops. I was so excited with how it turned out. I hope to use these when I make card sets as gifts.

Friends Mini Album

Hi everybody.....it is sooooo coooool to see how many people have joined me on my blog. Thanks for visiting. I love to create and it adds the cherry on top to be able to share it with others who share the passion for crafting. Speaking of friends......This is a mini album I made for my daughter. Actually I made two. One for her and one for her little friend who moved away. This has been planned for a good few months now but she was really having a hard time with it. All the work paid off when I got to see her happy little face. I used mostly Gypsy Wanderings for the letters and also used Birthday Cakes cartridge. I have found that the cake cartridges are also great for borders....who would have thunk it. Thanks for looking:)
